At Beal University, we are committed to helping you achieve your educational goals. Once you’ve made the decision to enroll at Beal University, a Financial Aid Adviser will discuss funding options with you and guide you through the process of applying for Financial Aid if necessary. Below is some basic information on the types of Financial Aid available to those who qualify. Remember, our Financial Aid Advisers are always here to help you navigate your funding options.

Net Price Calculator

The Net Price Calculator is a tool designed to help you make early estimates regarding your eligibility for need-based financial aid at Beal University. Based on the information you enter about your family financial situation you will be presented with a sample award with the following caveats:

  • Results are dependent on the accuracy and completeness of the information entered and intended to provide only a general guide to your eligibility for financial aid

Educational Opportunity Tax Credits

The State of Maine offers an Educational Opportunity Tax Credit (EOTC) for any Maine college graduate who has borrowed loans and lives and works in Maine after graduation. The program is officially known as “Opportunity Maine”. The program is now available to anyone who has received an associate’s, bachelor’s and/or graduate degree on or after January 1, 2008. Eligibility criteria varies based on the year of degree completion.

When filing your State of Maine tax return, complete the EOTC worksheet and submit it along with your completed tax return and supporting documentation to the Maine Revenue Service.

Canada Student Financial Aid

The Government of Canada’s Canada Student Loans Program (CSLP) provides financial assistance to students on the basis of financial need. The amount of funding given to help pay for expenses such as tuition, school supplies and living expenses is determined by numerous factors such as family income, tuition, program length and whether you’re enrolled full- or part-time, and school-related expenses. Financial Aid Awareness

Review your Annual Student Loan Acknowledgment,  learn about loans and borrowing basics, and see a snapshot of your loans when logged in to your account.

You can also view entrance counseling in demo mode or complete entrance counseling (a requirement for obtaining your aid). This counseling helps you understand how federal student loans work, evaluate programs of study, and see what kind of payment might be affordable for you

Financial Literacy Classes

Lenders in the private student loan industry will not be given a preferred status. Beal University will not produce a preferred lender list that gives any lender an advantage in securing business from Beal students.
